Bankroll and units: how to measure performance honestly

June 19, 2026

If someone’s “up $400,” you know nothing — $5 a pick or $500? That’s why analysts measure in units.

What a unit is

A unit is one standard stake — a fixed slice of bankroll, usually 1–2%. On $1,000 at 1%, a unit is $10. Every pick risks one unit.

Why it’s better

Units make results comparable regardless of bankroll. “+12 units over 60 picks” is a real signal — and it’s how to read our track record: win rate, units, and ROI together.

Discipline

Flat staking is boring on purpose. It removes the urge to “load up,” which is when people blow up. Consistency makes the long-run numbers mean something.
